An opportunity to see the fabulous new Textile & Dress Gallery with its innovative display of textiles and fashionable dress from the 16th to late 20th Century. Within the Gallery is The Glass Cube, housing a facility for study, talks and demonstrations with access to the collections. Hear about the trials, tribulations and success stories of installation from Keeper of Textiles Joanna Hashagen and her staff, with a special presentation on the mounting of the costumes from Janet Wood, conservator, Historic Royal Palaces.
The day will begin at 11.00am with morning refreshments in the Jubilee Room and a welcome from Joanna; the presentations will be followed by lunch and then an opportunity to visit the new Gallery and The Glass Cube .

There is ample parking space at the Museum, and the nearest mainline train station is Darlington, with bus service to Barnard Castle; from Darlington Compass Royston 70, Arriva 75 & 76; and from Bishop Auckland Arriva 8, or taxi fare costs in the region of £25.00
