Develop and share your skills, join the Programming Committee.
Well-organised with great ideas? Committed to costume and fashion savvy? Can you help the Costume Society?
Call for Events Organisers The UK’s largest fashion history network is looking for Events Organisers to join its Programming Committee. These are voluntary positions and unpaid, but not without their own rewards. The Committee plans and delivers a range of events, activities, study days, and a conference, to cater for anyone with an interest in all aspects of costume. If you are well organised, keen to share your enthusiasm about dress, fashion, either historical or contemporary and would like the chance to develop your skills in networking and event planning then we would love to hear from you.
Brief Job Description/Outline The committee meets three times a year and with the support of other committee members, you will help to shape the society’s programme by coming up with ideas, thinking of new ways in which we can attract and engage with members’ different interests and encourage new members to join the society though its events programme. You will be required to take the lead in organising at least two events a year with the support of other committee members and planning guidelines. Tasks will vary depending on the nature of the event but might include finding venues, speakers, or interesting places for behind-the- scenes tours. You will also need to chair the meetings from time to time.
Please send your CV and a short statement about any relevant experience you’ve had in programming and planning events, talks and social gatherings. Email info@costumesociety.org.uk.
