Celtic Revival clothing with expert Alex Ward

We are excited to announce that our next Reading Group Session for members will be on Monday 2 August, 7.30-8.30pm BST. Alex Ward is joining us to talk about Celtic Revival clothing in late 19th/early 20th century Ireland and there will be plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions too.

We can't wait to discuss Alex's Costume article, Dress and National Identity: Women's Clothing and the Celtic Revival, Costume 2014, Vol 48 No2, pp 193-212. In her article, Alex explores the part dress played in this period of Irish history and considers where, when and by whom Celtic Revival dress was worn.

Please make sure to read the article before coming to the session! You can access a digital version of Alex's article via our extensive Costume archive.

We will be recording the session and will send full details about this in addition to the session's login details.

The session is free but places limited so be sure to book via Eventbrite.

We look forward to seeing you there!
