In 2002, the award was made to Kay Staniland for the Sales Ledger of Thomas Fisher, 1671-76. This enabled an in-depth analysis of the surviving ledger of a 17th century London haberdasher and hatseller in the Guildhall Library. This rare survival contains a wealth of information about Fisher's business methods, his stock-in trade, and his customers.
In 2002, the alward was also made to Rosemarie M Howard for the History of the Girl's Uniform at Christ's Hospital. The grant enabled research and the digitisation of photographs which were then presented at the Costume Society's study day at Christ's Hospital in September. The research was not completed due to illness.
