This online talk has been postponed to the 24th April 2021 at 15:00 BST. The talk celebrates the life of the late Peter Farrer and his dress collection now housed at National Museums, Liverpool.
Pauline Rushton, Head of the Decorative Art Department at National Museums Liverpool, will discuss the unique collection of the late Peter Farrer. As the only complete cross-dressing collection in the U.K., the collection includes Peter's own research into the history of cross-dressing, the clothes he himself collected and wore, as well as Peter's own record of his experiences buying and wearing women's clothes.
Peter and his second wife, Anne, were active members of The Costume Society and amassed a fantastic archive.
This event celebrating the life of the late Peter Farrer and his dress collection now housed at National Museums, Liverpool will not only cover the contents of the collection but also consider the ethics and challenges that arise from exhibiting such a collection.
Tickets bookable via Eventbrite. Costume Society Members £5. Non-members £10.
