The Costume Society Reading Group: Drawing and Researching John Ruskin’s Clothing

Monday, 12 April 2021

The Costume Society hosts a regular Members-only Reading Group where we invite you to discuss an article selected from our journal Costume.

Costume Society Members are invited to an evening with artist and researcher Sarah Casey and "dress detective" historian and curator Ingrid Mida. Sarah and Ingrid will share their findings concerning John Ruskin's clothing, as explored in their 2020 Costume article "Drawing as a Creative Approach to Researching Extant Garments: A Case Study involving John Ruskin's Clothing".

Please be sure to read the article before coming to the session! The article appears in Costume 2020, Vol. 54, No2. Remember Costume Society Members can read Costume online via the Members' site.

Check your email for booking details of this special Reading Group to be held on Monday 12th April 2021. The session will be recorded and you will receive full details about this with the log in details for the session.

Part of our Reading Group events is a Q&A session where participants have the opportunity to ask speakers about their presentation, so why not join the Society and take part in this, and our other activities?
